About Massage & Movement
- South Birmingham
When I discovered massage I had no idea that such an exciting
new chapter had begun in life. The 'human being' (and being
human) is such a huge, unique and fascinating subject, it
feels like an epic journey of discovery that never ends.
Training in one skill has led to developing another, qualifying
in Swedish Massage, Bodywork, Sports Massage Therapy, Holistic
Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology. With continued
exploration as a therapist, personal skills have been developed
with a Btec Level 5 in Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage
with the Insitute of Sports and Remedial Massage, in addition
to exploring techniques in myofascial release.
In addition to private client and clinic treatment sessions,
3 years of training as an assistant tutor, I am now qualified
as a full Massage Training Institute tutor in Anatomy,
Physiology and Pathology and MTI tutor for the one year
Diploma in Holisitc Massage. This has grown out of being
made a Co Director of the Merdian Professional Training
in Massage and Natural Therapies School. It is an amazing
opportunity to be a part of training individuals and watching
them grow into Professional Massage Therapy Practitioners.
Working with Lorraine at Meridian, has given me the opportunity
to continue to develop as a therapist and tutor. We have
written the new course for Indian Head Massage Diploma,
which started this year and by learners accounts, has been
a great success. Currently we are formulating the one year
Sports and Remedial Massage Diploma to be launched in 2011.
As Massage and Movement and Meridian continue to expand,
On the 1st of November 2010, we opened our own centre on
the Yardley Wood Road, Billesley, Birmingham. We see this
as an ideal opportunity to continue to provide quality treatment
sessions and deliver quality courses under one roof. As you
have probably guessed, we are very excited about this and
hope to make Complementary Therapies and training courses
more readily available.
